Family Lifestyle Session: The Key To Timeless Art!
Have you ever tried to take a picture of an active three-year-old? It’s not easy and usually isn’t fun for anyone, but it doesn’t have to be this way! Family lifestyle sessions can capture timeless moments with your family and be a great bonding experience you and your loved ones will remember for years to come.
Dalana wanted some pictures of her and her son Kam since he just turned three. We decided to take the session at the Myrtles Plantation since it offers such a variety of scenery. She pulled up and he was fussy from waking up from a nap (very typical start for a session like this) It was then that I got to work.
Before the session Sarah (Kam’s godmother and my assistant) got him something to play with during the session so we used that to transition into getting him in a good mood to start the session as I helped him get dressed.
During a family session oftentimes times children just want to play and explore. It’s what they do best and it’s a great way to get some of that restless energy out before a posed group shot. During this time I encourage children to run around and explore. This is the time I am chasing them with my camera getting any and every shot I can.
While I am exploring I look for great locations onsite for shots with the children and their parents. In order to convince Kam to take a photo with his mom I had to pose Dalana and have Kam take her picture with my camera. He absolutely loved this and was more than willing to get in the shot after he saw how beautiful the picture of his mom was.
Family lifestyle sessions like these are so precious. You will not only walk away from these sessions with heirloom images you will also make memories with your loved ones too!
